The Ecudorian Coast – The coast is a good change to the mountain life; with its temperature of 35˚C (80˚F) it invites you to its endless beaches and an unforgettable nightlife. You will encounter towns like Salinas or Montañita, drive the “La ruta del Sol”, and visit places like Parque National Machalilla or Isla de la Plata, where you are able to see giant Humpback Whales (from June thru September).
The gastronomy is mostly based on seafood, but Yuca and green plantains will make you ask for a little more. You can easily travel along the coast by bus to different fisherman towns and spend the nights there to wake up early to see them bring in their catch.
Cabañas JAMU is located in the species rich Wildlife Reserve of Cuyabeno. Cuyabeno has 603,000 hectares of protected forest including primary forest.
Climbing mountains and volcanoes. Avenue of the volcanoes, with its different levels of complexity, gives us at some points a marvelous view of Cotopaxi, the highest active volcanoe.
